Alexander Salinas
Education and Training Intern
Alex (he/him) supports Raising Justice’s day-to-day work by taking detailed meeting notes and assisting his team members. He is training to become an intern, and he’ll eventually work directly with the research team to support the program director.
Alex joined the team to learn more about why police act more aggressively toward young people. He loves how passionate his peers are about Raising Justice’s work, and has been inspired by seeing everyone come together to fundamentally change the relationship between youth and police. Alex is ready to use his skills—including grant writing, leadership, and communication—to help his community.
Alex’s dream is for young people of color to not worry about being mistreated by the police—everyone deserves to be treated with respect.
Alex is currently a junior at Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon.
